There are other abnormal medical conditions that present themselves when a baby is forming. One of the most publicized and bizarre problems that a pregnant woman can experience is being diagnosed with conjoined twins. Usually, these patients’ stories get told when doctors and parents decide to attempt separation surgeries. Separating conjoined twins can be extremely dangerous. Because this condition is caused by incomplete cell separation, conjoined twins often share organs. In one instance, a set of conjoined twins had two heads and one body, with each brain controlling one side. This is, for obvious reason, inoperable. In most instances, however, only one part of the bodies is connected and a successful surgery can be performed.
